HOM:

Giving you something to read on the toilet since 2009.

"The mistake lies in seeing debate and discussion as secondary to the recovery of meaning. Rather, we should see them as primary: art and literature do not exist to be understood or appreciated, but to be discussed and argued over, to function as a focus for social dialogue. The discourse of literary or art criticism is not to recover meaning, but to create and contest it. Our primal scene should not be the solitary figure in the dark of the cinema but the group of friends arguing afterwards in the pub."

  1. "now again, for kids who were bound to read Every Man's Battle and Wild at Heart, this was just...the ultimate."
    -best quote thus far

Also, I disagree with reading the book...this is the only case I can think of in which the movie is, indeed, better than the book. The book is really dense. IMHO, OMG, LOL.

  2. I agree this is an excellent movie. I'm just curious, could you try and review in the coming days a movie that would fulfill the criteria as 'poofter-liscious' so that I can get a feel for what you mean by that? Thanks!
